Composite Design Fundamentals
The way composites combine the different materials and manufacturing processes to make the final product leaves a massive range of choices for any product.
Our Composite Design Fundamentals training course peels back the layers about the decisions to be made.
- Who is it suitable for?
- What is covered?
- What prior knowledge do I need?
- How long and how much?
- What can I study next?
While principally a design course, this course has been made deliberately accessible to a range of technical abilities including:
- Design Engineers
- Manufacturing Engineers
- Line and Operational Managers
- Project Engineers / Managers
This will cover the basics of composites including:
- Typical Composite Product Lifecycle
- Requirements Capture
- Materials / Manufacturing Selection
- Material Characterisation
- Designing basic laminate stacks
- Tool Design
- Human Factor Analysis
- Design Exercise
We have our own range of design exercises but if you have a particular problem we can weave this in to the course.
At the very least, we would expect people to know the basic materials and processes used in composites.
There is no need to have any previous design knowledge or any ability to use CAD software.
We can deliver this at your facility for £200 per person up to 10 people per group*. We can also deliver this at a local venue near you for a small additional price.
The course is one day (0900 – 1630) with all of it in an interactive classroom setting.
*minimum of 4 people required
